Your Mindset Is Costing You Your Millions!

One of the most important yet overlooked aspects of achieving financial success is mindset. Many entrepreneurs, particularly Christian business owners, struggle with the idea of making money, often due to deeply ingrained beliefs that wealth is somehow at odds with faith.

I learned this the hard way. My first business was doing well—bringing in thousands of dollars a month—but my mindset sabotaged my success.

I feared that if I kept making money, I might lose my salvation. This misconception, rooted in a misunderstanding of the Scripture, led me to unconsciously limit my own potential.

This is why your mindset is critical. If you believe that making money as a Christian is wrong, you will, one way or another, find ways to sabotage yourself.

The word Mindset spelled using wooden letters. The Truth About Wealth in the Bible

Many people believe the deception that poverty is more righteous than prosperity. However, this belief contradicts the consistent message of abundance found in the Scripture.

From the very beginning, God establishes abundance by placing Adam and Eve in a lush, bountiful garden. The Bible concludes with the same theme of abundance, describing Heaven as a place with streets of gold and gates made of pearls.

God even declares in Haggai 2:8:

“The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of hosts.” – Haggai 2:8

Throughout the Scripture, God is presented as:

  • The All-Powerful One (not weak)
  • The All-Wise One (not foolish)
  • The One who owns everything (not in lack)

If God owns all wealth, and we are His children, why do we struggle financially? Why do we believe the lie that being poor is a virtue?

Personal Struggles with Mindset and Business

At one point in my business journey, I had self-sabotaged so badly that I found myself financially stuck. I began to ask:

“If God says the silver and gold are His, why don’t I have any?”

I had to confront the reality that my limiting beliefs were keeping me from receiving what God had already provided. Instead of viewing wealth as a tool for stewardship and blessing others, I mistook it as something evil.

A conversation with a video editor about hiring him for one of my YouTube channels stand out as a significant moment. Initially, he was interested. But after some back-and-forth, he told me:

“You shouldn’t be doing business based on the Bible.”

At that moment, I realized how many people—including Christians—have been deceived into separating faith from business. But I asked him:

“As a Christian, should I base my business on the Bible or the world?”

He didn’t have an answer. Because deep down, the answer is obvious. A Christian business should be run with integrity, honesty, and a heart to serve others. That’s exactly what leads to true success.

1. Daniel: Prosperity Through Faithfulness

Daniel was taken captive and brought to Babylon, yet despite being a slave, he rose to the highest positions in the kingdom. Why?

  • He remained faithful to God.
  • He used his God-given gifts.
  • He refused to compromise on his principles.

Even when the king sought counsel, Daniel was chosen above others. He was clothed in royal attire, given gold, and made one of the highest rulers in the land.

“…Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” – Daniel 5:7

This shows us that wealth is not evil—righteousness and success can go hand in hand.

2. Joseph: Rising from Betrayal to Leadership

Joseph’s life is one of the most powerful examples of how God can take a person from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs—all while remaining faithful.

For years, Joseph suffered injustice, but he never lost faith. Instead, he continued to use his God-given gifts—especially the ability to interpret dreams.

Pharaoh was so impressed that he even took the gold ring off his finger and placed it on Joseph’s hand and promoted him to the highest position in the land, second only to himself.

Joseph’s story teaches us that:

  • Even when life seems unfair, God can still elevate you.
  • If you remain faithful and diligent, success will come.
  • Wealth follows wisdom and stewardship.

3. Abraham: The Father of Faith and Wealth

Abraham is the ultimate example of Biblical wealth and faith. He is the father of our faith and was very rich in silver, gold, and livestock. But here’s the key:

Abraham’s wealth never became more important than his relationship with God.

When God called him to leave his homeland, he obeyed. When God asked him to sacrifice Isaac, he trusted. Abraham’s story shows us that:

  • Faithfulness leads to blessing.
  • Wealth isn’t evil—it’s a byproduct of walking in obedience.
  • Trusting God with everything brings provision.

Abraham’s story is proof that wealth and faith are not contradictory. God wants to bless His people, but He also wants them to remain faithful and use their resources wisely.

Many Christians have unknowingly embraced a poverty mindset that prevents them from receiving the blessings God has for them. The Bible teaches us to be good stewards, work diligently, and use our gifts to serve others.

The key is keeping God first—wealth is a tool, not the goal. As I’ve said before, and I will say it again,

Being wealthy is a better physical representation of a child of God than being poor. Share on X

Why? Because it allows you to:

  1. Give generously.
  2. Help others.
  3. Expand God’s Kingdom.

Once you shift your mindset and align your business with Biblical principles, you will begin to see transformation.
