The iron lady

The film has been out for a few weeks now, and its been a few days since I’ve seen it. I believe I have allowed it to resonate and gather my thoughts. I actually went to watch it after being made aware by some that the film wasn’t really that good of a depiction. The person I went with held similar views. Margaret Thatcher is someone I have been interested in for a long time. I do take a liking to politics and for a few years, I have wanted to know about her life story. When I realised this film was coming to theatres, I said to myself, now is as good a time as any. This isn’t a film review so I will not bore you with my media background analysis. I do find myself at times, analysing text as a media student but my main aim usually is enjoyment. Regardless of review, we do learn that Margaret Thatcher had a very interesting life. Being the first lady prime minister is an achievement by itself and one she should be no doubt pleased by. One of the things I enjoyed about the film was the feeling of success. I’m always happy to see someone succeed, when people say you can’t. Maybe that will be the example which will tell you you can, or maybe its this article. Whatever it is, remember to encourage the next man or woman.
