Debunking False Hebrew Israelite Teaching With 1 Women In The Bible!

I’m going to show you a woman in the Bible that totally destroys false Hebrew Israelite teaching, that only Israelites can be saved. I’ll share their responses, so you know how to respond & so you can see for yourself how unreasonable they are, as we discuss 5 relevant scriptures.

Introduction to the Biblical Narrative

Let’s just to the Bible now and start to break this down. So who is the woman? And what is the 1st scripture?

The Woman of Discussion: Rahab

Her name is Rahab, she was not an Israelite but a Canaanite. And we will first look at Joshua chapter 2. This is the famous account of the walls of Jericho tumbling down. Before this happened, Joshua sent spies into Jericho and Joshua 2:1 says:

“And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.”

Rahab’s Act of Faith

Word gets back to the king, Rahab saw the spies, and she hides the men in her house. Later that evening we see Rahab’s first mention of God. As she testifies of the Lord’s power

Hebrew Israelite Responses and Counterarguments

Now before we move to the 2nd scripture, I want to share some of their responses.

The Claim of Rahab as an Israelite

Some will turn around and say to you, she was really an Israelite.

This obviously makes no sense, because the Israelites were in Egypt, and they all just left. But Rahab lives in Jericho, and is described as a Canaanite.

The Questioning of Rahab’s Salvation

Some say, although she mentioned God and made an oath, it didn’t say she was saved. But you will see how absurd the responses get as time goes on.

The Second Scripture: Joshua Chapter 6

Scripture #2 is Joshua chapter 6.

Rahab’s Protection and Salvation

As Jericho is destroyed in this passage :22-23 reveals how the 2 spies were commanded to bring Rahab and her family out safely.

But :25 is most significant because it says,

“And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel [even] unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

At this point:

• She’s acknowledged God.
  
• Professed belief in God.
  
• And lived among the Israelites.

And at this point, the best they can do is cast doubt on the fact Rahab was saved.

Moving to the New Testament: James Chapter 2

This line of thinking get’s totally destroyed, as we move to the New Testament mention of Rahab. Because this is where the responses become ludicrous sadly. And shows you, this band of Hebrew Israelite is full blown cult mode.

Scripture 3 is James chapter 2, where The Lord’s brother James does something you can’t get around.

The Justification of Faith

In James 1:21-22 he begins speaking about Abraham, “The father of faith”.

Rahab’s Justification Compared to Abraham’s

James says,

“Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?”

This is important because James is covering justification before men here.

In simple terms…“How do I know you are saved for example?”

By what I see you do right?

And this sort of justification comes after justification before God, because God sees the heart.

But James 1:23-24 is important…

“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.”

Abraham was justified before God, & was justified before men. Because we can read about all the things Abraham’s faith in God resulted in.

But It says Abraham BELIEVED GOD. And this is significant for Rahab because of what James says next.

In James 1:25 he says,

“Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent [them out] another way?”

LIKEWISE he says.

Just like with Abraham, Rahab is the same.

Abraham believed God, LIKEWISE Rahab the Canaanite harlot believed God.

Abraham was justified, LIKEWISE Rahab was justified.

The Dangers of False Doctrines

But here’s where it get’s sad. And why cults are dangerous groups to be in. A clear sign of a cult is when they start changing the Bible. You may see cults do this by adding to, or taking away from God’s Word.

The Rejection of Biblical Books

These Hebrew Israelites who believe only Israelites can be saved, have to discredit James. They will say James made mistakes in Acts chapter 15 by proclaiming gentiles are not under the law.

You will hear them say James made mistakes here in James 2. And at this point, they are rejecting the book of Acts, which means they have to reject Luke’s Gospel too since Luke wrote both of them.

They also are rejecting James. And can you see how this attachment to 1 false racist doctrine, is slicing up the Bible?

Racial Bias and Misinterpretation

And this is a clear sign of a cult. This is when you realise, this is not about following God’s Word, but this is about, hatred of certain people.

And even by me pointing this out, they’ll say I’m “fighting against my own” Or “blinded by the white man”, when this has nothing to do with skin colour.

This is just clearly about what the Bible says.

Further Evidence from the New Testament: Hebrews 11 & 12

Scripture #4 is Hebrews 11, the “Hall of Faith” as it’s known. It describes many greats from the Old Testament. And Rahab is one of them…

The ‘Hall of Faith’

In Hebrews 11:31 it says,

“By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.”

Rahab’s Mention among Biblical Greats

And just like James, here she is mentioned with people like Abraham, David, Noah, Moses & more.

In Hebrews 11:39-40

it makes it so clear. It says,

“And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: [40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

The Inclusion of Rahab in Salvation

It says all of them mentioned above (Rahab included), will not be made perfect without us. And it’s clear already, but made even clearer when we read scripture #5, which is the very next lines in the Bible, in Chapter 12:1-2

Hebrews 12:1-2 says:

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Conclusion: Rahab’s Story Debunks False Hebrew Israelite Teaching

Because of all these examples in Hebrews 11 who endured, take confidence, and look to Jesus. But just like James, they will have to disregard Hebrews too as scripture.
